Alana Burke is a columnist and Radio Talk Show Host with a penchant for pulling people out of their comfort zones.  She grew up in the Bay Area, graduated from the University of Texas with a B.A in Psychology and served as a Legislative Analyst for the State of Texas.  Alana is a capitalist and a patriot with a fierce love for America where people can dream big, or fail big with impunity.

…and now for something completely different:

In the first grade I wrote, “Plumpy the Raisin”, an unremarkable story filled with remarkable vocabulary for which I received mighty accolades.  Thus began my love affair with the written word and the power of language.

What we know influences the words we use and the words we use influence the results we achieve.   To that end, I am a World Wide Web addict with a Google fetish.

The people in my life come from all walks and political views because birds of a feather that flock together stilt their intellect and limit their vision.

Why Talk Radio? Americans have grown weary of political mal-practice.  The current intent of political correctness is about censorship using the labels “racist”, “hater” and “bigot” to intimidate instead of inspiring racial and gender harmony.  Using my voice as a tool to promote common sense, well, just seems like common sense.

Author Anne Lamott wrote,” Hope begins in the dark; the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come.  You wait, and watch and work: you don’t give up.”

This epitomizes the American perspective.  We never quit.  We always believe that we will succeed as a nation of historic purpose, for the common good of all.

Oh, and if I had a choice,  my last meal would be Fillet Mignon, a cabernet from the Alexander Valley and…..wait for it….macaroni and cheese.
